SAN FRANCISCO, Calif., February 3, 2006 - Today, JMP Productions announced a new North American concert date for PLAY! A Video Game Symphony the international concert series with music from a catalogue of blockbuster video games. The concert will be presented in Toronto, Canada at The Hummingbird Centre for the Performing Arts on Saturday, September 30, 2006.
Advance tickets will be available starting February 6 2006 for Hummingbird Centre members. The membership line is 416-393-7460.
The PLAY! concert at The Hummingbird Centre will feature award-winning music from titles such as FINAL FANTASY (R), SILENT HILL (R), BATTLEFIELD 1942 (TM), METAL GEAR SOLID (R), WORLD OF WARCRAFT (R), SONIC THE HEDGEHOG (R), THE ELDER SCROLLS (R) III: MORROWIND (TM), SHENMUE (TM) and many others. Outstanding graphics on large screens above the orchestra accompany the scores, highlighting memorable moments from the video games.
The Hummingbird Centre for the Performing Arts is Canada's premier performance venue and a historical and cultural landmark in Toronto. Located in the heart of the downtown entertainment district, The Hummingbird Centre is the largest performing arts venue in Canada. The theatre has a prestigious history of arts presentation from its opening in 1960 with Richard Burton and Julie Andrews in Camelot to current day presentations from The Mozart Orchestra, to Bjork; and is operated to celebrate the cultural diversity of the city and Canadian excellence in the Arts. The concert will be performed by Local Toronto Orchestra Members and chorus, conducted by Grammy Award-winning artist Arnie Roth.
